Silvia Cermelli

Silvia is a Clinical Development and Operations Leader and Scientific Advisor with over two decades of research experience spanning academia and the biotech industry. Her career commenced at the National Cancer Institute in Italy, followed by roles at the University of California, Irvine. She also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and as a Principal Scientist at Cell Systems Corporation, focusing on targeted cancer therapy, biomarker discovery, and clinical cancer research techniques. Silvia later joined Immunexpress, a Seattle-based molecular diagnostics company specializing in sepsis, where she assumed leadership roles managing multicenter clinical studies.

Silvia has a proven track record of success in oncology and infectious diseases, notably supporting the clinical planning, validation, and regulatory clearance of in vitro diagnostic devices. She earned a Ph.D. in Developmental and Cell Biology from UC Irvine and holds a joint certification in Biotech Project Management from the University of Washington and UC San Diego.
